Walter Issac Turner

Walter Issac is almost 4 years old!

After being induced and just under 9 hours of easy labor he was born on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 - 9 days early!

He weighed 8 pounds and 4 ounces and was 21 inches long. He had straight dark brown hair and green/brown hazel eyes.

August 30, 2004 - Today was Walter's 1 month doctor's appointment. He now weighs 10 pounds, 4 ounces and is 22 inches long. The doctor says he is very strong and healthy and everything looks great!

October 04, 2004 - Today was Walter's 2 month doctor's appointment. He got shots, cried for 30 seconds and went to sleep. He now weighs 14 pounds and is 25 inches long. The doctor says he's doing great and is in the 50th percentile for both height and weight.

November 30, 2004 - Today was Walter's 4 month doctor's appointment and he smiled at everyone at the doctor's office. He got more shots, cried for 15 seconds and then started smiling again. He now weighs 16 pounds and is 25.5 inches long. The doctor says he's doing great and is in the 50th percentile for height and the 70th percentile for weight. He can start having solid foods now starting with rice cereal.

January 31, 2005 - Today was Walter's 6 month doctor's appointment. He now weighs 18 pounds 1 ounce, and is 26.75 inches long. He got his shots and cried a few seconds but was fine after that. The doctor says he is healthy and everything looks great!

February 20, 2005 - Walter got his first tooth on the bottom right side!

March 01, 2005 - Walter learned how to drink through a straw today! He had diet lemonade.

March 02, 2005 - The left side bottom tooth came through!

April 19, 2005 - Crawling *really* fast now, pulling up and trying to walk

May 1, 2005 - One top tooth popped through. At least 3 more are on their way very soon.

May 3, 2005 - Walter had his 9 month check up today. He is 21 pounds and 14 ounces and 29.5 inches long. That is the 75th percentile for height and 70th for weight. Dr. Gentry says he's doing great and will see him again around his first birthday.

July 19, 2005 - He walked!! 4 steps by himself. Things are going to start getting really fun around here.

August 4, 2005 - He had his 1 year doctor appointment today! He is a whopping 26 pounds and 5 ounces and 30.5 inches long. He's doing great and growing well. He's also walking on his own really well now.

September 10, 2005 - We can count 10 teeth now, including 3 molars coming through!

October 29, 2005 - We can count 14 teeth now, including 4 molars and 2 "eye teeth" coming through!

November 9, 2005 - 15 month checkup today. Walter is 31 and 1/8 inches tall and 29 pounds and 10 ounces. He is very muscular and doing great in all areas.

February 6, 2006 - 18 month checkup today. Walter is 32 inches tall and 30 pounds and 10 ounces. He got his regular immunizations and a flu shot. He did very well even without a binky! We gave up the binky officially on Feb. 4, 2006 and he's doing great without it.
UPDATE: After getting the stomach flu a couple of weeks after giving up the binky we gave him the binky back to keep his fingers out of his mouth. We'll try again later to give it up.

August 9, 2006 - 24 month checkup today. Walter is doing great! He is 33.6 pounds and 36.25 inches tall now. He's a big boy, in the 90th percentile for height and still very muscular. He needs to take calcium supplements because he won't drink his milk!

December 18, 2006 - First trip to the ER and 6 stitches for Walter. He ran into the wall! He's also speaking in sentences now. Christmas this year is all about cars and Thomas and friends (trains).

November 20, 2007 - No more binkies and diapers only for overnight! Walter loves to play football with Kisha and Ted and especially loves to tackle. I caught him tackling Buster today...poor Buster. He emailed Santa and said he wants a bell and new toys for Christmas. We think the reason he keeps saying he wants Santa to bring him a bell is because he loves the "Polar Express" movie, and of course the kid gets one of Santa's sleighbells. Walter is in the 90th percentile for height and up ther ein weight too, but the doctor says heis doing great.

May 29, 2004 - Baby Walter is on the way so we've been working on his room. Wendy did some fantastic murals for him. Mom painted Winnie the Pooh and Samantha painted in the Dumbo mural. Here are some pictures:

05/24/2004 - Completed! Do you think baby Walter will love his murals as much as we do?

05/31/2004 - We cleaned the carpet, put the crib together and hung the canopy and put his little dresser and hamper in. We also got him a rug! I should say that Wendy did most of these things :)) She also hung up his shelf and shadowbox.
